It’s such a cliché to say that the Algarve is a golfer’s paradise, but it’s true!

Based at Casa Octavius, golfers have a choice of over 25 courses to choose from, in an area stretching from Lagos in the west to Villamoura in the east.

So, if you are a beginner with a taste for a relaxed 3-par 9 holes, you are catered for within 5 minutes of the villa at Vale de Milho. 

For the really serious golfers, there is a selection of championship courses to choose from, including the oldest of them all – Penina in Alvor.  Or head east to play some of the  72 championship holes in Quinta do Lago, home to the Portuguese Open on 7 occasions. 

If you want to stay local, Carvoeiro offers 2 excellent courses at Pinta and Gramacho, just 15 minutes from the villa.
